Sunday: DIY
Sunday’s are a great day to get crafty. Read on for a little lesson on how to make these awesome breaded bracelets. xx Jordana
You’ll need:
1.5 yards of waxed linen cord
50 – 70 size 8/o seed beads
a 10-13mm two hole button
scissors
Cut the waxed linen cord into a 26″ and 19″ piece. Fold the longer strand in half. Align one end of the shorter strand with both ends of the longer strand Fold the excess over the top of the folded piece creating to parallel loops.
Tie a knot about half an inch down from the loops. Snip off the extra fourth strand, leaving 3 equal strands of equal length.
Start braiding the strands. After about an inch or so, braid in the beads. Thread a bead onto the outer left strand.
Push the bead against the base of the braid, and cross the left strand over the middle. Now thread another bead onto the out right strand. Push it to the base of the braid and crossover.
Keep a finger at the base of the braid, holding the beads in their place and keeping the braid right. Continue threading on beads before each strang is crossed over.
Finish the bracelet with another inch of braided cord, measuring it against the wrist. Tie a knot.
Thread on two hole button – two strands through one hole and one strand through another. Secure it with another knot.
Ta dah!

Our First Snowfall. Surf’s Up!
Just last year I learned how to surf so, needless to say 30 foot waves are not yet part of my repertoire. Last night, in my dream I was exercising said surf skills off the coast of ….some where really sunny and was jolted awake by a major wipe out- a slow motion fall from what felt like 50 feet! I love how realistic dream scenarios can seem when you wake up, or even how they can sometimes actually influence your mood so much that you feel like you’ve lived the experience. I lay in bed reliving the fall thinking that the next time there are 30 foot waves bouncing off the shores I’m going to stick to sun bathing in my Santiago Suit! Anyway, the whole thing got me craving summer and I slipped into a day dream of beautiful coast lines, blue skies, bikinis and sandy beaches and then I looked outside and ta dah, it’s the day of our first snow fall! The only fix I could think of for such a craving in New York City after our mini snowfall in mid-January was to do two things 1. swing by Saturdays Surf for a coffee (and brief peruse of their drool worthy surf goods) and 2. to share some surf and beach inspired pics from both our own travels at 6 Shore Road and other surf fans. Enjoy.xx Jordana

The Sunshine State
At the end of December every year I fly to Miami for my grandmother’s birthday. Usually, my days with her are made up of tanning, swimming in the ocean, shopping, gallery hopping, eating and drinking…. all in all, pretty low key. Little did I know that there was more to Miami than the beach and Lincoln Road!! After her birthday bash I met up with some friends in town for some unexpected adventures. From boating around the Everglades, betting at the Dania Jai Alai, visiting some cigar rollers in Little Havana and, my personal favorite, walking around taking in the incredible street art of the Wynwood Distrcit, I think I explored Miami more in 3 days than I have in 25 years! I can’t wait to go back.xxJordana

Victoria’s Secret
I grew up flipping through my mom’s Victoria Secret catalog and so when I got mine this week it was so exciting to see our Presidente Hand Crochet Coverup in it!!! Yay! You can also buy it online and in stores but, there’s something so cool about seeing it in the catalog, in print. Love, love. xx Jordana
